From being a very fit and active person he found himself limited and restricted in what he could do due to his injuries. Once he had come to terms with the changes in his life he decided to turn a negative into a positive, he now travels around the world telling his story to others on exactly what the human cost of the accident was and the impact it had on those around him and how the same could happen to anyone if they do not consider their own safety. He talks in detail as to how it could have easily been prevented and what lessons were learnt.
